Original Drawing by Susan Johnston, "Locating the Tidal Zone"

graphite pencil on Bristol board paper

$630.00$575.00

This art is included in Susan Johnston's Bay-Works Project. Story behind this piece: The world's precious bays and estuaries are under assault from years of dredging and development. They are crucial to life. The shoreline connects the fresh and salt water systems. At the tidal zone oyster reefs, salt marsh inhabitants, and mangrove communities build the fortress that supports this life. Restoring the shoreline by putting bags of oysters in is one way to help.

This is near and dear to Susan's heart. When she draws oyster shells she is swept away in the magnificence of their form and function.
